THE I OF THE STORM – Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace
By Gary Simmons (Unity House)
The Power of Strength is not about force; rather, it is the ability to endure and stand firm in the face of perceived conflicts and challenging appearances, and then to reframe these perceptions for good.
THE I OF THE STORM is a practical primer in awakening readers to the truth that real strength arrives through the awareness of the sole Presence and Power at work in their lives, and that this presence and power lives in each of us as the Spirit of God. “For this reason, no one or nothing can be against you.”
Author Gary Simmons has lived this awakening. By background, he is a Unity minister, spiritual counselor, fourth-degree black belt in tae kwon do, airplane pilot (he has his own plane, housed in a hanger he built on his property) and student of quantum theory and metaphysics. Married several times, he and his wife, Rev. Jane Simmons, now mentor and teach the leading-edge concepts presented in THE I OF THE STORM.
In Chapter One, aptly entitled, “No One is Against You,” Simmons writes, “Nothing opposes you. Any experience you may have to the contrary is evidence that your mind is rooted in separation and illusion… No one is against you. Make your path be about proving this truth, and you will discover what wholeness really is.”
THE I OF THE STORM is peppered with real-life parables from Simmons’ own background where he illustrates spiritual concepts through life stories and martial arts examples. Simmons takes the stigma out of the idea of conflict, redefining it as “an interference pattern of energies,” which, “like colliding ripples on a pond, create a cascade of influences that become the substance for new creations.”
THE I OF THE STORM is not only an engaging read, it affords readers with useful methods for applying the concepts at the close of every chapter. And don’t let the large type-face fool you into thinking this is just easy-peasy prose. THE I OF THE STORM takes a deep, deep dive into “embracing conflict, creating peace” that can literally change your life – for GOOD.
“Don’t tell God how big your storm is. Tell your storm how big your God is.” U/K
